A rocket will be launched from Wallops Island, Va., on Saturday morning and will be visible from our neighborhood.

- Look to the east
A good place from which to watch the rocket launch is from the end of a dock in the Potomac River, including the deck at the picnic area at the west end of Potomac Drive. Look east, toward the Chesapeake Bay.
The rocket will be launched from the NASA installation at Wallops Island, VA, which lies almost directly east of our neighborhood. This launch is a rocket carrying supplies to the International Space Station.
Launch times can be delayed because of weather or technical difficulties. It’s a good idea to start watching for the launch about five minutes before launch time. Also, you can listen to the launch countdown by following NASA Wallops on Twitter and/or Facebook.
