The rocket launch from Wallops Island — which will be visible from our neighborhood — has been postponed.
Launch is now scheduled for Sunday, November 12, 7:14 AM. Details on the Wallops Island NASA website.
Launch originally was scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 11, 7:37 AM. However, that launch was scrubbed with 1 minute 15 seconds left in the countdown because an aircraft had intruded into the launch airspace.
To view the launch, look to the east, across the Chesapeake Bay — Wallops Island launch facility is on Virginia’s Eastern Shore, across the Bay from our neighborhood. A good place to see the launch is at the end of the deck in our picnic area.
