Rebuilding our dock

The western border of our neighborhood is Presley Creek, a shallow creek that empties into the Potomac River.  We have a boat launch ramp and a dock in Presley Creek.  By August 2011, the dock was showing its age and the deck boards needed to be replaced.  Several volunteers pitched in and completed the job in two days.  The creek is home to crabs and, in crabbing season, you can catch enough crabs for a meal in 2-3 days.

Started construction — note the old and new deck boards.

New deck boards almost complete.  The boat launch ramp is to the left of the dock.
